Rodger

I
Rodger loves kids and he is so cute with them. He adores our grandkids Arlie and Deacon. But he also loves all little kids. I love that side of him.

Rodger loves the outdoors. He loves to hunt and fish. He loves being in the mountains with his horse Sailor and his dog Angus. He loves animals and farm life. He gets a big kick out of raising our chickens, irrigating the hay field and training and raising horses. These qualities of Rodger are very endearing.

Rodger loves wrestling and he loves coaching it. But what he loves most is spending the time with his son and helping him to be a champion wrestler. His passion for this is very attractive to me.

Rodger grows the tallest corn in the neighborhood.

Rodger loves working in the garden.
He is also very sexy!
I have had to depend on my sweet husband alot lately since my injury and I have come to view my injury as a blessing. He has waited on me hand and foot for the past two weeks and I figured he must be getting tired of it. I asked him if he was and his response brought tears to me eyes. He said, "I would wait on you 24 hours a day for the rest of your life without getting tired of it." He loves me with his whole heart and tries to show me that he does every day. He is the type of man who would help anyone who is in need. He loves the underdog and wants to help them out. He has gone to school with me for the past two weeks to help me in my classroom. The kids love him and he has really enjoyed being there. I have enjoyed being able to share that part of my life with him. He really has a big heart and a soft side that many people do not see. I have come to appreciate him more than ever and my love for him has grown in the last couple of weeks as I have come to realize that Heavenly Father answered my prayers when I asked to have a man who loves me. Thank you honey I love you more than you know.

Shadow is getting BIGGER!

Our New Little Bear

Here's Austin's new little shadow. He follows Austin wherever he goes. During the week he stays at Grandma Ford's so that Austin can play with him after school. On the weekends he stays at our house or his mom's house. He is so sweet and lovable that Rodger and I are always sad when he leaves.

Austin Learns to Ski

Be patient Austin is the one with the smooth S turns at the end!

A Painful Bump in the Road

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Well, I was having such a great week. My workouts were getting easier and more enjoyable, I was eating good and I had lots of energy. I have lost 10 pounds so far and I was feeling quite motivated and then disaster struck! I slipped on some ice when I was headed out to walk on my lunch break and sprained my ankle! All I could think of is "this is my reward for trying to get healthy." I guess on the bright side I didn't break it so I should be able to recover faster.
I'm just so glad that it didn't happen till Friday because, I was able to go skiing with Austin on Thursday night. He is learning to skii and Thursday was his 3rd time. I was so proud of him cause he has already improved enough to graduate from Skiers Lane to Slithery Dee. He thinks skiing is so much fun now and that is the most important thing. I am so glad that I got him skiing this year, it was so much fun. Well I'm not going to let this little bump in the road totally derail me, I can still watch what I eat till I can exercise again.

Hanging in There

Well I've been doing the diet and exercise thing for 12 days now and I've lost 6 pounds so far. It's hard not to be impatient and want more but I guess that's pretty good. I have noticed that I have more energy lately and that's worth it all.

Our Family

Well, I finally got started. I was slow getting started because I was sick and I started worring that if I didn't get started then I never would. So, I started eventhough I'm not completly healthy. I started with walking on my treadmill 2 miles a day plus I went skiing on Thursday night. Today I walked 31/2 miles and I have lost 3 pounds so far this week. I was feeling quite shocked at how out of shape I have become. Walking has never been a work out like it is now. Usually I have to run to feel like I have had a good workout. But, everybody has to start somewhere. The fact that I have ran a half marathon before, and I have been where I want to be, helps me to hang in there. I know it is possibe and I just need to hang in there and take baby steps.
Rodger has not become too involved yet, besides weighing me on Sunday and telling me he loves me and thinks I'm sexy not matter what size I am. Tommorrow is my second weigh in and things are going good so far!

Before Picture

Well, this takes some guts to post this picture but I'm hoping to have a dramatic after picture when I'm done with my weight loss journey. I decided it was definatley time to do something because I have gained probably 55 pounds since we got married over 5 years ago. I have asked Rodger to be my personal trainer and train with me for a half marathon in about 16 months. I also thought it was a good way to strengthen our relationship. Hopefully we don't kill each other before were done. Wish me luck I will need it!

My First Post

Here we go with our very own blog. Thanks to my awesome daughter Tiffany for getting it all set for me. Now I will be able to keep my online friends up to date on what is going on with my life as well as start blogging my weight loss journey. So here goes nothing!
